Things to do for non-birding family members and/or friends.

The 2012 Festival offers many local alternative activities for non-birders and encourages a few Festival events that can be enjoyable.

  • Tour the Titusville Historic Museum (downtown Titusville)
  • Tour the Space Walk of Fame and Museum (downtown Titusville)
  • Visit the quaint shops and art galleries - then have lunch in one of the great downtown Titusville restaurants
  • Tour the Police Hall of Fame and Museum
  • Take the KSC Visitors Center Bus Tour and visit the Astronaut Hall of Fame
  • Visit the Exhibit Center, the Raptor Project, Silent Auction and Art Show.
  • Rowell's Heritage Farm field trip – step back in time at a historic working farm
  • Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Historic tour by bus
  • An Airboat trip - an exciting way to spend an afternoon or morning and not JUST for the birds
  • Visit the historic Pritchard House and take the Downtown Titusville walking tour

The last four activities require that you complete a Festival Registration as seats/trip space is limited.

Depending on age, budding-birder kids may be happy being with dad or mom but may tire of the trail-trekking. The Festival has many events that are family-oriented and can be enjoyed together. Please see page 35 in the Program.

A great afternoon meeting place will be the Keynote Social where you can enjoy a beverage and snack and an opportunity to meet new or old friends.

We are available by phone to discuss alternative preferences and suggested non-birder and family-oriented activities. Contact the Festival office at 800-460-2664.
